The Carian Trail – Gulf of Gokova is a hiking route measuring 249.8 kilometres in length, connecting the districts of Bodrum, Marmaris, Mentese, Milas, and Ula. The route offers nature lovers and hikers a unique area for exploration.
Along the walk, travellers encounter stops such as Adakoy, Marmaris Castle, Marmaris Museum, Yeni Cami, Tepe, Kemeralti, Sariana, Pasabey, Camdibi, Grand Aquarium, Club Aquarium, and Icmeler. Those progressing along this itinerary come face to face with both the natural beauty and historical richness of the region.
One of the prominent points along the route is Marmaris Castle, which was rebuilt by the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent during his campaign to Rhodes. Today, the Marmaris Museum located inside the castle exhibits artifacts belonging to the Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine periods, alongside finds unearthed from surrounding ancient sites.
